An obsessively detailed graphite portrayal of a horse. The creature’s neck and part of its muzzle seem to fade or be sun-bleached, creating a haunting blend of presence and absence. This piece is one of the few a series of horse portraits with vanishing elements he’s been working on btw 2000 and 2004, as an artistic choice that resonates deeply with feelings of nostalgia and retrospection. After a life-altering accident left him unable to perform basic life functions for over two years, Edwards’ work has taken on new depth, becoming a poignant exploration of memory, loss, and resilience.<\/p>\n<\/div>
